Joe's New Blog

Nothing special, this is just my third effort at writing a blog about my life and what goes on in it: Hobbies, cooking, work, maybe the occasional book or DVD review, and so forth. Nothing really noteworthy, but this is sort of a little subset of my world...

Daily Journal: Day 67 of 365

It was a short day at work today. The last weather report I saw yesterday said that it was supposed to start snowing this afternoon, but there was already about four inches of snow on my car when I left for work this morning. Ernie seemed to have fun in it, although the snow on the ground was mostly just slush when we went out in the morning.

The girlfriend called me at about 12:30 and said that they were going to be shutting down the sales portion of the dealership in about half an hour. Of course, no one from my own department bothered to call me, and by the time I finished what I was doing and wandered back to the office, almost everyone had already left.

When I was a little kid, I used to love snow days. Not only the fact that I might have a day off from school, but I just generally enjoyed going out and playing around in the snow itself. Now that I’m just a wee bit older, I really don’t care if I ever see another day with snow again. Not only do I lose the hours at work, but it generally makes the driving a mess and I just plain don’t like the cold and wet when I have to take the little man out to do his business. But it is pretty, I suppose…
