Joe's New Blog

Nothing special, this is just my third effort at writing a blog about my life and what goes on in it: Hobbies, cooking, work, maybe the occasional book or DVD review, and so forth. Nothing really noteworthy, but this is sort of a little subset of my world...

Daily Journal: Day 69 of 365

This morning, we took Ernie on another little field trip. We brought him down to the dealership to meet some of the co-workers. Everyone thought he was just adorable, and he was on pretty much his best behavior, which is a good thing. He only nibbled on a couple of people, and those were both guys who sort of tousled his hair and roughhoused a little with him, so it wasn’t that big a deal.

After his big adventure, the girlfriend and I had a bit of shopping to do. We were both a bit hungry, so we stopped at Le Peep Grill for lunch. I’d never eaten there before, and she said that she hasn’t been there for several years. I had the Monte Cristo crepe, and she had a club sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. Overall, it was a decent meal, but certainly nothing to write home about. The crepes were okay, but the potatoes that came with them were over salted. The girlfriend said the soup was a bit bland, but the sandwich wasn’t bad. As she said, we’ve tried it, and we probably don’t really need to go back there again. Or at least not for a few years…

After the lunch, we went to Petsmart and bought Ernie some new food and water dishes, as well as a couple of toys that he really doesn’t need. We also signed him up for the puppy training course, which will begin next Saturday. Hopefully he’ll come out of the whole episode treating us a lot more like he treats the strangers at work.

Following the Petsmart run, we went to Best Buy so she could look at the laptop computers. She ended up buying a little Gateway netbook. It’s certainly not the kind of machine that I’d want, but it should do a perfectly good job at the stuff she does. And it was quite a bit less expensive than any of the regular notebooks, which is a good thing.

Now it’s getting late, it’s been a long and active day, and I’ll still need to get up in the middle of the night and take the wee beastie out for his potty break. So off to sleep with me…
